Olivia

Rule #1… Always listen to Clive.

It’s comes as no surprise to R.C. that word on the street is that Olivia’s days with G-Unit are numbered. We thought her addition to the hip hop collective was a dumb choice considering the fact that if she had any marketable talent, Clive Davis would have capitalized on it during her tenure with J Records. In any event, the axe will undoubtedly fall, so R.C. ponders who would make the best replacement (Take note Fitty, we know your reading). Our picks go from best to worst choice.

Keyshia

Keyshia Cole » According to Keyshia herself and every chicken head we know, “The streetz love Keyshia Cole.” Pound for pound she’s probably one of the few female artist out that could link up with Fitty & Co., and bring heat from the gate, but the question is would she even be seriously interested? With a highly anticipated second album and a BET styled reality show on the way, she really doesn’t need anyone’s Unit to create heat.

Nicole

Nicole Wray » Nic’s road to stardom has been longer and more tenuous than Star Jones’ weight problems. Kick starting her career with Missy, she was soon dumped for Tweet and rebounded with Roc-A-Fella’s Dame Dash. As of today, we hear she’s on hold. Considering she’s worked more rappers than Superhead, we think she has the “it” factor that Olivia lacks.

Teedra

Teedra Moses » Our favorite of the four contenders, it’s too bad she’s probably too old for the job. Which sucks since she’s obviously one the most talented of figures in R’n'B music today. Her new LP, The Young Lioness, is due to hit shelves at the end of the summer, but considering how TVT Records bumbled her critically acclaimed debut Complex Simplicity, we doubt Teedra will get the love she rightly deserves.

Fantasia

Fantasia » With the Idol machine behind her you would think Fantasia wouldn’t need 50 and his croonies to make a hit, but considering the way her lucks been running lately, it may not be a bad way to go afterall. First there was the whole “she can’t read” drama, and then she lost the part in Dreamgirls to Jennifer “I Lost A.I. to Fantasia” Hudson. After all of that, is she really a winner?

Are we missing anyone?

Is it like the record company? Or lack of good promotion? Cause we really need some good RnB female artists making it big now. I am so tired of Chris Brown. She can only be around for so long.

lmao…i don’t think G-Unit is the young lioness’s scene at all, although at this point, she needs to be takin all she can get. The forties only last so long…

I love teedra moses. She doesnt get the play she deserves at all. Her label is full of idiots. How old is she exactly anyway? She didn’t give me old hag when I saw her…

Nicole wray? eh… not pressed. I think she hasnt blown up because she doesnt have the talent to. blow up. She would be just as blah as Olivia (who always looked like a man in drag to me anyway…)
