Despite the anemic marketing for John Legend’s stellar latest project Once Again, he managed debut at #3 via Billboard.

John was held back from the top spot this week by the juggernaut soundtrack for Disney’s Hannah Montana (#1), and My Chemical Romance’s debut of The Black Parade (#2). Not surprisingly Justin Timberlake’s FutureSex/Lovesounds holds it down for another week at #4. And rounding out the top 10 are The Killers Sam’s Town (#10), which is probably the most cohesive album of the year, it simply rocks.

Winners:
There aren’t many winners this week since album sales are down in general, but Jojo’s The High Road is a good contender while holding down #12 - considering her fans are the downloading generation that’s epic for Jojo. Despite all the hateration - Beyonce extended B-Day’s shelf life and landed at #13.

Losers:
This week Diddy is probably wondering what happened to his #1 standing as his Press Play drops to #7, meanwhile horrible debuts for Shareefa (#25), Kelly Price (#54) and Brooke Hogan (#28) - someone’s not getting a follow up album. It must not be the season for R&B diva’s and G-Unit members as Janet’s 20 Y.O. falls from #21 to #42, Monica’s The Makings Of Me fell harder from #48 to #64, and Lloyd Banks Rotten Apples went from #15 to #33 - ouch. Meanwhile Cherish remains Unappreciated while stalling at the #79 spot.

Do you think this week’s sales accurately reflect the buyers market, who was worthy of your money? Below are the latest album covers for Bow Wow’s The Price of Fame, Eminem’s The Re-Up, and Tyrese’s Alter Ego

Kelly Price released her joint independently, so by major label standards, that’s a terrible debut. however, it’s a GOSPEL album released on her own label, so i’m sure she’s not mad AT ALL.

Hmmmm, considering I don’t invest in debut CD’s, I guess I’ll reserve my comment until a later date. LOL
