Ginuwine

Q: You used to be Timbaland’s muse — how do you feel about him working his way to “not so ethnic” artists like Justin Timberlake, The Pussycat Dolls, Hillary Duff and Nelly Furtado now?

A: There are a lot of things I feel…I’ve lost a lot of respect for him, and there are definitely things I’m upset about. He’s not focused on those he started out with…I feel like his loyalty’s diminished, and he’s very blind to what’s happening…

Ginuwine needs to get over it. I respect his music but I do not think there is anything wrong with Timbaland working with different artist. Ginuwine needs to build a bridge and get over it.

Uh oh. I cannot believe he said that. This reminds me of when Puff started working with Faith and Mary started flapping her gums about it. Not a good luck. Ginuwine could’ve easily been like, “I’m glad he’s doing his thing. That’s what we all want–TO EXPAND.” Sounds like sour grapes to me.

Timbaland is coming across as a little too anxious to produce little white versions of Vanity and Michael Jackson, but hey he wants to get paid and he knows that when it comes to black music, put your money on the white artist - disgusting and sad but true.

well as far as ginuwine he is needs to get over it and we all know that Timbaland is a great producer and makes great music many which are hits so as long as he has the opportunity to do so..no complaints here…ginuwine needs to get in the studio and try to redeem himself..i mean tim is a producer that is wat he does true and true…i mean c’mon you don’t see jermaine dupri working wit just one artist…so ginuwine…get over it

Ginuwine’s time is over, hell his music wasn’t even all that when he was actually doing something. You should be greatful Tim put you on at all. You’re really not that talented. Aaliyah was the real star behind that little click anywho.

Honestly, when Tim was working with Missy, Genuwine, Aaliyah and Playa he was giving them a fresh sound that no producer in the industry had. When you heard a Timbaland beat, you jumped out of your seat and turned the volume on blast. Now, when I listen to these other artists he’s working with, I am quite bored because the music sounds like tracks we heard back in 1999 and 2001 a little before Aaliyah died. I understand how Genuiwine feels as an artist because Timberland’s music had a connection with his and Aaliyah’s style. Eversince their clique sort of disbanded - a lot of artists have been trying to re-create what they’ve already done with Tim (example: Brandy) and it’s not working as successfully as it did 4 their team! On the other hand, Tim did take a hiatus from working with a lot of people after Aaliyah’s death and Missy’s decision to do more of her own producing without him. In order to make money, you have to work with or for someone who’s able to generate some money. Justin Timberlake is mainstream and therefore has the asset of generating profits versus Genuiwine who is not and needs to work on re-creating his image right now without Tim because it begins to look as if his musical “identity” was really in Tim’s producing rather than in himself. If that’s not true, then he should be able to pick up his “genuine” style of singing and work with some other producers with FRESH concepts that can accentuate that style of his.
