You probably haven’t noticed, but that unassuming songbird Mya – she’s back.
After a night of drinking at Negril’s with the New York upwardly mobile clique, I happen to chat up King Magazine‘s Datwon Thomas. Somehow or another we got into magazine speak and he started me on this guessing game of which cover model sold the most issues of his book – headily I took the bait.
Instantly, I knew Brandy was out of the running – something told me Moesha half nude wasn’t flying off shelves. Of course, cover staples like Trina or a “Buffy the Body” type were all too common. It would have to be someone unique, interesting and hot enough to take a second glance… it would have to be an event.
My answer, “Kelis, Tyra or maybe Free,” as if I knew all.
“Nope,” he smiled, quite pleased with himself. “It was Mya.”
After hearing that fact, I decided to start taking more notice… and I like what I see.
