What happens when your hot single generates less interest than a new JaRule album?
I like to think I have the ear of Clive Davis, at times I can almost predict future hitmakers, but sometimes there seems to be a disconnect. Three artist we profiled as one’s to watch have pretty much stalled on delivery, we ponder why.

Megan Rochell > Her album Me, You & the Radio was suppose to drop this summer after her hit-tinged Rodney Jerkins produced clip, “The One,” took over everyone’s iPod and terrestrial radio. We thought she’d be the next young thing following Cassie, instead she damn near disappeared. Luckily for her, she may rebound with her Ryan Leslie (Cassie’s producer) helmed, “My Mistake.”
J. Holiday > This DC bred crooner caught our eye with his video filmed in and around one of our favorite landmarks Ben’s Chilli Bowl in DC. But the song didn’t catch much fire outside of Ben’s Chilli Bowl it seems… We don’t think his slow burner “Bed,” will have him ruling Billboard anytime soon, but it does make for great baby making music, which never hurts.
Rashad > It also never hurts to have T.I. in your pocket or on your single, but having the “biggest” rapper around on your single doesn’t always generate a guaranteed hit. Rashad discovered that the hard way when his catchy single, “Tell ‘em” never got caught. Despite that, we’re pulling for the recently signed Detroit native, he’s no one trick pony. Check him and TIP perform his first single below.
