Trey Flaunts It

We admit it, there isn’t much love for R&B upstart Trey Songz here at R.C. It seems that whenever we ran across him - which seemed like everyday last summer - he believed his own hype, which wouldn’t be a problem if the hype actually matched the talent.

Although we doubt his sophomore clip Trey Day, will place him on even footing with Chris Brown & even Bobby Valentino, it’s still great to see someone from our home state of Virginia making waves in such a fickle industry. It makes sense that someone so cocky would be featured in the latest issue of Flaunt (Trey’s only inside, since he’s not big enough for a cover), we hope he finds some humility soon, since the road back to Petersburg Virginia isn’t very long.

I totally DISAGREE wit this lil article. First i hate when ppl get confidence confused with being cocky. If u ever met Trey you would know he is the sweertrst person in the world. I really into the whole music industry and i’ve found out that tv and radio play what they want to the public to hear and not what the public is actually asking for. Trey gets no play becuz of shady industry tricks but if u actually go to his shows u can see how much ppl (especially the ladies) love him. He’s the only artist i know that gets online to communicate with is fans so until i hear Chris Brown or Bobby V gettin on line to check on the ppl who really support them i don’t wanna hear it. Trey has just as many fans but it’s all about who’s gonna play u and there are still lots of DJ’s and tv personals who still sleep on him but there’s one thing Trey knows for sure and that’s he has MANY fans who support him. I Challenge anyone to go check out his fan site and myspace and see how many groups of ppl go nuts over this man…and for the record the snippets from Trey’s up coming album is FIYAH nelieve that

[ROCKA] Ten Ten, if you read my piece, I stated that I ran into Trey Songz a number of times last summer, which means I’ve met him numerous times in NYC. And while I never said he is a complete ass, he does come across as a very cocky individual, and hard to talk too. It’s just my opinion on him, and how he seemed to me on more than one occasion. And myspace friends rarely translate into records sales, ask Tila Tequila [/ROCKA]
