The other night, some friends were over the crib and we all became transfixed on Mark Ronson’s flick for “Stop Me,” featuring Daniel Merriweather…

The clip features beautiful women wandering around a city, maybe London, crying cartoon tears… Before long the tears envelope everything, even Mark Ronson.
While we all agreed it was creative, hip, and just a bit foreign… we couldn’t exactly agree on what it was all about. I admit, since we were all gabbing and drinking no one heard the words, so these observations are all based on the images alone. Here what we came up with…
- All the women in the video are crying because they all have their periods at the same time, which in turn bathes the entire city like the vaginal walls after a heavy flow – it’s a metaphor.
- All the women are lonely and need loving bad, which is causes them to weep for love of Mark and Daniel who seem to be the last two guys in the world.
- It makes no sense at all purposely; Mark just wanted to trump the Justice video.
What’s your interpretation?
