I’ll be the first to admit, NewAmerykah WASN’T the album I wanted from Badu, but maybe it’s what I needed.

I was watching VH-1 soul the other day with friends when this clip zoomed in, and one commented, "I can’t get into this chick cause she’s always got a message."  In a moment it occurred to me to surround myself with more intelligent people and thank God for the clarity of my ears.

In a world of meaningless mechanical sound masquerading as music, Erykah is one of the few musician’s whose work I can categorize as Art. I think a viable view point… on any subject, political or otherwise is refreshing.

But I’m sure you guys would rather go touch Mariah’s body.
