Why Did Madge Change The Beat?

Did Madonna change up her single, “The Beat Goes On,” because the original sucked?

If your like me, your always checking for the advance singles that artist release to prep their albums for buzz generation. Madonna’s Hard Candy was no different in this category, considering this time around her production was strictly Virginia Music with the aid of Pharrell and Timbaland.

Madonna > Pharrell “The Beat Goes On”

A couple of months ago the single, “The Beat Goes On,” hit the internet and everyone pretty much panned the stripped down direction of Madonna’s new project. It was called everything from uninspired to just plain boring, and the NY Post even reported a mass scattering from the dance floor when the song premiered at a popular club.

Meanwhile, the single wasn’t touted much, and soon it was all about “4 Minutes.” So imagine my surprise when cracking open the new disc, and discovering a new clubbed out version of the single with the addition of Mr. West.

Which makes me wonder, did Madonna flip the single because it was universally panned? Do you think it’s better the second time around?

yeah the original sucked ass compared to the newer version. Pharell pretty much rehased his same tired beat he’s refurbished for the past decade with every artist. but the newer version is a bit fresher with a retro feel and features a slightly diff production style from pharell— and the sped up tempo is an added plus cuz the original was too slow
