On paper, Chromeo represents everything I dislike in conventional music — vocoders, 80’s synths and it doesn’t help they’re from Canada.
Despite all of my initial reservations something strange happened when I pressed play, I kept listening.
Their electro-pop meets disco music style is ever present in their first video, “Night by Night.” Everything in this vid screams 80′s excess, surprised a pile of cocaine didn’t make a cameo. Despite all the happenings, it works.
