It seems that the rivalry between former best friends Nicole Ritchie and Paris Hilton intensifies by the project. Although they haven’t collaborated since their scripted sitcom reality show The Simple Life left Fox, they are becoming strange bed-fellows by continually releasing similar projects within days of each another.
It began with their movies, the dubious House of Wax (Paris) and the oddly familiar Kids in America (Nicole) opening on the same day. But it continued with their horrid attempts at writing, Nicole producing true life fiction (The Truth about Diamonds) and Paris attempting comedic journalism by mistake (Your Heiress Diary: Confess it all to Me).
But things didn’t get interesting until we learned that both were planning on releasing albums with tracks that vaguely refer to the other. Although it’s tough to tell who really has the goods from one single, were placing our bets on Nicole (Lionel Ritchie’s her “dad,” and Sheila E. is her biological aunt). Their cold contempt for one another so reminds us of the Foxy Brown/Lil’ Kim squabbles – only with better weaves.
