Although the possibility of Lauryn Hill being replaced as a member of the Fugees is probably nil, what if Wyclef and Pras decided to add another chick to the mix and record a new set? Who would be that chick.

Estelle
Wyclef was once quoted saying the following about Estelle, “I have never worked with a young artist that reminded me so much of Lauryn Hill.”
Not only does Estelle have a legit flow she also has a voice, and she’d bring a fresh international flavor to trio. The only problem is that she’s so similar to Lauryn at times; people make think she’s aping L’Boogie. Check out the Wyclef produced, “No Substitute Love,” if you want a Pras-less preview of what they’d sound like together.

Mary J. Blige
Remember the emotion Mary and Wyclef displayed on their collaboration on “911?” I imagine a Fugee + Mary album would be like that except with interludes from Pras and her alias “Brooklyn.” As a matter of fact the only snafu there would be with this pairing is that it would never happen. Mary is moving way to many units solo to let Pras f*ck up her legacy.

Erykah Badu
Imagine how New Emrykah would have ended up if there were someone around to reign in Erykah’s eccentricities, and throw a lil’ grime over her sound. Strangely, I think a Wyclef intervention would’ve done the trick. She’d make their sound a lot more passionate, and they’d prompt her to thug it up a bit, maybe even spit a bar or two. Besides, who wouldn’t love the return of MC Apples (Erykah’s MC alter ego), she could mess around and have a radio hit.
